**Anakapalli, [Date]:** Assembly Speaker Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu inaugurated a new Anna Canteen in Narsipatnam on Wednesday, highlighting the state government’s commitment to providing affordable meals to the underprivileged.
Speaking at the inauguration, Patrudu emphasized the importance of the initiative, inspired by former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao, which aims to offer meals for just Rs. 5 at over 200 canteens across Andhra Pradesh. He assured that the government plans to establish these canteens in every constituency.
Following the inauguration, Patrudu and District Collector Vijaya Krishnan enjoyed lunch at the Anna Canteen, showcasing their personal support for the program.
Earlier in the day, Patrudu attended a ‘Hospital Development Society’ meeting at the Government Area Hospital in Narsipatnam, where he expressed his commitment to restoring the hospital’s former glory. He criticized the lack of progress in forming a committee to oversee the hospital’s management, questioning the hospital superintendent about the delay.
Patrudu also stressed the need to address deficiencies in service delivery and urged the hospital to set a special price for private ambulances. He assured the hospital of necessary equipment for surgeries and the installation of a sixth water plant within the premises.
District Collector Vijaya Krishnan, in a show of support, promised to provide a new ambulance to the hospital. The meeting was attended by RDO Jayaram, hospital superintendent Dr. Neelaveni, and medical officers from various departments.
