Wed Sep 18 16:33:00 UTC 2024: ## TDP Leader Accuses Previous Andhra Pradesh Government of Desecrating Tirumala Temple
**Amaravati, India** – Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu has accused the previous YSRCP government of desecrating the sacred Tirumala temple. Speaking at an NDA MLAs’ meeting, Naidu alleged that the Jagan Mohan Reddy-led government compromised the sanctity of the revered Tirumala Laddu prasadam by using animal fat instead of pure ghee in its preparation.
“The previous government desecrated Tirumala. Even the sacred Laddu prasadam was adulterated with animal fat instead of using pure cow ghee,” Naidu claimed, citing ABP Desam. He alleged that the prasadam was prepared with substandard ingredients during the YSRCP’s tenure.
Naidu, who took office as Chief Minister in June, asserted that his government has restored the quality of the prasadam, ensuring only pure materials are used. This claim comes after Naidu’s earlier vow to cleanse the Tirupati-Tirumala administration following his pilgrimage to the Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala shortly after his swearing-in.
“I will start the purification of governance from Tirumala. Defiling Tirumala is not acceptable,” Naidu had declared in June, as quoted by India Today. He further accused the previous government of commercializing the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), compromising the spiritual integrity of the site.
“Prasadam should be of good quality, rates shouldn’t be increased, and tickets for ‘Darshan’ should not be sold in the black market. They turned this religious place into the centre of marijuana, liquor, and non-vegetarian food,” Naidu said in June. He vowed to eliminate corruption and uphold ‘Hindu Dharma’ in Tirumala, promising necessary action to protect the temple’s sanctity.
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the former Chief Minister, is yet to respond to these accusations.
