Mon Sep 16 14:52:56 UTC 2024: ## New Sketches Released in Search for Identity of “Asian Doe” Gilgo Beach Victim

**Suffolk County, NY** – Authorities have released new sketches of the Gilgo Beach murder victim known as “Asian Doe” in an effort to finally identify the individual. The sketches, based on anthropological studies of the recovered remains, depict what officials believe the unidentified subject would have looked like.

“Asian Doe” is described as a biological male of southern Chinese descent, aged between 17 and 23 at the time of their death. Their remains were discovered in April 2011 along Ocean Parkway, where they had been for at least five years. The victim was found wearing exclusively women’s clothing, leading investigators to believe they may have identified as a woman or been known by others as such.

Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney stated that the victim suffered a violent death due to blunt force trauma. Investigators believe “Asian Doe” may have been a sex worker who disappeared in 2006 and spent time in New York City.

A $2,500 reward is being offered for information leading to the victim’s identification. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crimestoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.

While Rex Heuermann, the suspect in the Gilgo Four murders, has not been linked to “Asian Doe’s” death, DA Tierney stressed the importance of investigating each case individually.

“Each one of these victims is a separate crime scene,” said Tierney. “We don’t talk about it until we’re able to charge someone.”

Heuermann, a New York City architect, has been charged with the murders of the Gilgo Four – Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman, Maureen Brainard-Barnes, and Amber Costello – as well as Jessica Taylor and Sandra Costilla. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

This renewed push to identify “Asian Doe” highlights the ongoing commitment to seeking justice for all victims of the Gilgo Beach murders. Authorities hope that the new sketches and increased attention will finally lead to the identification of this long-forgotten individual.
