**Atlanta, GA** – Actor and singer Tyrese Gibson, known for his roles in the “Fast & Furious” franchise, is speaking out against what he calls an “unjust” child support order, claiming he’s being unfairly burdened by a system that doesn’t account for fluctuating income. Gibson was recently arrested for contempt of court after failing to meet a $10,690 monthly child support payment for his five-year-old daughter Soraya, born during his marriage to Samantha Lee.

Gibson maintains that the court’s order is significantly higher than the $3,600 he has been paying monthly since his split with Lee in 2020. He argues that the current order is based on an outdated figure established for his 17-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, and that the amount is unrealistic given his current financial situation.

“When I book five movies in a row, hold me — court system — to that [$10,690] number,” he stated. “But when I go two or three years without booking a movie, there are no concerts, no shows… do you think Disney wants to hire me?”

The “Baby Boy” star further claims that Lee’s demands are motivated by “gluttony” and “money-hunger,” alleging that their prenuptial agreement established a fair settlement. Gibson has filed multiple appeals against the child support order, arguing that the system unfairly punishes high-earning parents who experience financial downturns. He intends to take his fight to Congress, advocating for fairer child support calculations that account for fluctuating incomes.

Gibson also expressed his frustration over negative media portrayals that further impact his ability to earn a living. “It is not okay for the family court system to hold you to [a] child support number, when you’re no longer employed by the job that helped you establish that child support number,” he stated.

While Lee has not commented on the situation, Gibson has been vocal about his desire to protect his daughters from the “lies, accusations and bulls – – t.” He vows to continue fighting for fairness, both for himself and for other parents facing similar challenges.

“Your father is doing the best that I can with every 24 hours I get,” he said to his daughters. “Your father has always been the truth, will speak the truth and live in integrity — even if I’m completely embarrassing myself.”
