**Mumbai, September 18, 2024:** The Indian stock market experienced a mixed performance on Wednesday, with IT stocks weighing down the overall sentiment. The benchmark BSE Sensex dropped 130.24 points to 82,949.42 in early trade, while the NSE Nifty dipped 37.75 points to 25,380.80.
**Reliance Power** shares surged in early trade, hitting the upper circuit limit. This followed the company’s announcement that Vidarbha Industries Power Limited (VIPL) will cease to be a subsidiary of RPower effective September 19, 2024. The stock was trading at Rs 32.97 at 9:52 am.
**Indian Railway Finance Corp Ltd (IRFC)** shares gained over 1 per cent, trading at 162.89 at 9:53 am. While the stock has been a popular choice among investors, it has dropped over 6 per cent in the past three months. However, it has shown strong performance over longer periods, gaining over 20 per cent in the past six months and more than 110 per cent in the last year.
**Bajaj Housing Finance** shares, which were newly listed, experienced a decline of over 2 per cent, trading at Rs 176.76 at 10:03 am. This came after the stock hit the upper circuit limit on Tuesday, gaining 10 per cent. The company’s market valuation has climbed to around Rs 1,51,139.21 crore.
**Hero Motocorp** shares traded in positive territory in the morning session, reflecting the strong performance of the automobile stock over recent periods. The stock has gained over 16 per cent, 33 per cent, and more than 90 per cent in the last one month, six months, and one year respectively.
