**Edinburgh, Scotland** – Tony Bloom’s sports analysis company, Starlizard, is in talks with Hearts FC about a potential £10 million investment. This deal would see the Edinburgh-based club adopt Starlizard’s advanced analytics for player recruitment. Bloom could potentially acquire a minority stake in Hearts within the next two years, subject to approval from the Foundation of Hearts members.
However, former Hibs and Dundee manager Jim Duffy believes that Rangers FC would be a more fitting target for Starlizard’s investment. Duffy argues that Rangers, a club with a massive fan base and a history of success, are currently seeking investment after undergoing significant changes at the leadership level. John Bennett stepped down as chairman, and the club is still searching for a new CEO.
“I don’t get the Tony Bloom thing at Hearts,” Duffy said. “Why would you not look at Rangers? They are a huge club and have an unbelievable fan base. Their recruitment hasn’t been great, so you go in there with your analysis company and say ‘we will look at the players’. You would think that would be something a club like Rangers would have to look at.”
Starlizard’s potential involvement with Hearts comes at a time when the club is seeking to bolster its resources and compete for top honors in the Scottish Premiership. Rangers, on the other hand, are facing a period of transition and may be more receptive to a strategic investment from a company with Starlizard’s expertise.
