**Riyadh, Saudi Arabia:** The Saudi Ministry of Culture, in partnership with the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL), will host the “Learning and Embracing the Arabic Language” hackathon on September 18-19 at the Diriyah Biennale. The event aims to bring together innovators and creators to develop innovative methods for promoting Arabic language learning through a blend of culture and creativity.
The hackathon is part of the Ministry’s commitment to promoting innovation in the cultural field and reinforcing the role of the Arabic language in Saudi culture. This initiative aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, which prioritizes fostering the Arabic language.
In a related announcement, Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan declared 2025 as the “Year of Handicrafts.” This decision recognizes the significant cultural value of handicrafts in Saudi society and highlights the creativity and talent of Saudi artisans.
“We are working to instill pride in our national identity and all its associated cultural elements,” Prince Badr stated. “The Year of Handicrafts will celebrate this essential component of highly significant cultural and artistic value that is the cornerstone of national identity.”
The Ministry of Culture will work to increase the visibility of Saudi handicrafts both domestically and internationally. The initiative aims to enhance the contribution of handicrafts to the local economy and raise awareness about their cultural, historical, and economic significance.
