**Castlerea, County Roscommon:** Gardaí are investigating the death of a Dublin man who was found deceased on his bicycle in County Roscommon on Sunday, 15 September. The man, identified as Marcus Phelan, was in his 50s and had a holiday home in Cloonchambers, Castlerea.
Local residents described Phelan as a quiet man who enjoyed the west of Ireland. He was found dead at approximately 2 am on Sunday, with minor damage to the handlebars of his bicycle.
After a postmortem examination, Gardaí believe Phelan may have suffered a medical event that led to him falling off his bike. They are currently not treating the death as suspicious and have ruled out the involvement of any other vehicles.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the incident or those who may have dashcam footage from the Castlerea area between midnight and 2am on Sunday, 15 September, to come forward.
