Mon Sep 16 16:20:23 UTC 2024: ## Sheriff Speculates on Conspiracy in Trump Assassination Attempt

**Palm Beach Gardens, FL** – Martin County Sheriff William Snyder raised questions about a possible conspiracy during a press conference on Monday regarding the arrest of Ryan Wesley Routh, who allegedly attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump.

Routh was apprehended after gunfire was exchanged with Secret Service agents in West Palm Beach on Sunday, while Trump was leaving his golf course. While praising the quick action of a civilian who aided in Routh’s capture, Sheriff Snyder expressed uncertainty about the extent of Routh’s alleged plot.

“How does a guy from not here get all the way to Trump International, realize that the former president of the United States is golfing and is able to get a rifle in that vicinity?” Sheriff Snyder asked.

He went on to speculate about the possibility of a larger conspiracy: “Is this guy part of a conspiracy? Is he a lone gunman? If it’s a lone gunman? President Trump, is that much safer because we have him. But if he’s part of a conspiracy, then this whole thing really takes on a very ominous tone.”

Sheriff Snyder’s comments, made without any supporting evidence, have sparked concern about the potential for spreading misinformation and fueling conspiracy theories. The FBI and Secret Service are currently investigating the incident, and it remains unclear what motivated Routh’s alleged actions or whether he acted alone.
