**BENIN CITY, Edo State – September 14, 2024** – The Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria (PSHAN) and the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation have officially commissioned four renovated Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) in Edo State. The renovated facilities, part of the Adopt-a-Healthcare Facility Programme (ADHFP), will provide enhanced maternal and child health services, immunizations, and outpatient care to the communities of Atoruru, Ute, Evbuodia, and Idunmungha.

This milestone marks a significant step forward in the ADHFP, an initiative aimed at improving healthcare accessibility and quality in underserved areas across Nigeria.

“A healthy population is the cornerstone of sustainable development,” emphasized Mrs. Ofovwe Aig-Imoukhuede, Co-Founder and Executive Vice Chair of the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation. “We’re committed to bridging the healthcare gap in Nigeria by revitalizing Primary Healthcare Centres.”

Dr. Tinuola Akinbolagbe, MD/CEO of PSHAN, highlighted the positive impact of the pilot facilities: “Our pilot facilities have seen significant increases in outpatient attendance, maternal care registrations, and immunizations – 91% and 832% growth in outpatient attendance and antenatal care registrations, respectively, in 2023 alone.”

The Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation has invested millions of naira in renovating 23 PHCs nationwide under the ADHFP. This collaboration with PSHAN is part of a larger strategy to improve health outcomes across Nigeria.

The newly renovated PHCs are expected to benefit thousands of Nigerians by providing improved healthcare services, including maternal and child health, immunizations, and outpatient services.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by dignitaries including Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku, Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly; Dr. Omosigho Izedonmwen, Executive Secretary, Edo State PHCDA; and Hon. Ahonsi Dickson, Chairman, Owan West LGA.
