Tue Sep 17 07:00:20 UTC 2024: ## Fresh Meat Star Leads “Cosy Crime” Series With Neurodivergent Character

**London, UK** – Actress Kimberley Nixon, known for her role in Channel 4’s sitcom “Fresh Meat,” has teamed up with production company Nelson Nutmeg Pictures to create a new “cosy crime” series titled “HeadCase.” The show, which features a neurodivergent lead character, is set to star Nixon as a single mother who stumbles upon a knack for solving crimes when she suspects her neighbor has been murdered.

“HeadCase” was specifically created with Nixon in mind, who is an advocate for mental health and an ambassador for the National Autistic Society. The series allows Nixon to reflect on her own experiences while drawing inspiration from her passion for crime fiction – she famously won “Celebrity Mastermind” with Agatha Christie as her specialist subject in 2015/16.

Producers Tim Clague and Danny Stack of Nelson Nutmeg Pictures spoke about their search for partners for the show, as well as their thoughts on the current state of the UK television sector. They emphasized their focus on finding projects that are “IP-adjacent” to give buyers a sense of security when investing in new ideas.

“HeadCase” joins a growing trend of “cosy crime” shows that offer a lighter alternative to the dark and gritty Nordic noir series that dominated television screens prior to the pandemic. This new series promises to be a unique and engaging addition to the genre, featuring a relatable and compelling lead character who reflects the experiences of many neurodivergent individuals.
