Tue Sep 17 05:32:30 UTC 2024: ## India Launches Centralized Platform to Boost Startup Ecosystem

**New Delhi, India** – The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has launched a new platform called **BHASKAR**, aiming to connect and empower India’s burgeoning startup ecosystem. This centralized portal will serve as a hub for over 1.46 lakh DPIIT-recognized startups to interact with investors, mentors, service providers, and government agencies.

Upon registration, startups will receive a unique **BHASKAR ID**, granting them access to a wealth of resources and opportunities. The platform will facilitate collaboration, idea exchange, and growth acceleration for startups.

“The primary goal of BHASKAR is to build the world’s largest digital registry for stakeholders within the startup ecosystem,” stated the DPIIT in a press release.

**Addressing Gaps in Startup Data**

While the government reports significant economic impact from startups, with over 12.42 lakh direct jobs created, there is currently a lack of comprehensive data on their contribution to the national GDP or the impact of COVID-19. BHASKAR, while beneficial, may not address these real-time data collection challenges inherent in a dynamic sector like startups.

**Future of India’s Startup Scene**

This launch comes amidst growing interest in fostering a robust startup ecosystem in India. The government has been actively promoting initiatives to support startups, and BHASKAR is expected to play a pivotal role in further strengthening this ecosystem. However, the platform’s ability to address data gaps and provide comprehensive insights into the sector remains to be seen.
