**LOS ANGELES, CA** – Irish siblings Simon and Warren Atkins took home a prestigious Emmy Award for their work on the hit reality series “The Traitors US.” The brothers, who serve as co-executive producer and producer respectively, were among the nominees for the coveted “Outstanding Reality Competition Program” category at the 76th Primetime Emmy Award ceremony on Sunday.
“The Traitors US” triumphed over other nominated shows, marking its second Emmy win. The show’s host, Scottish actor Alan Cumming, also secured the “Outstanding Host” award, ending RuPaul’s eight-year winning streak for “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”
“The Traitors US,” based on the hugely popular UK format hosted by Claudia Winkleman, features a group of reality TV stars competing in a game of deception, betrayal, and murder within a remote Scottish castle. The series has become the most-watched unscripted program in the US.
The Atkins brothers, hailing from Castlebar, Co Mayo, expressed their delight at the win: “Winning two Emmy Awards for a show as successful as The Traitors is a dream come true! Working in TV is not for the faint hearted, but it’s an absolute privilege to work with some of the most talented people in the industry and create some of the biggest shows on TV.”
With over 15 years of experience in the entertainment industry, the pair have worked on numerous hit shows including “Strictly Come Dancing,” “Married At First Sight,” “The Voice,” “First Dates,” and “The Bachelor.” This summer, they launched their entrepreneurial reality show “Ready Set StartUP” on London Live and Amazon Prime, featuring ten aspiring entrepreneurs competing for a £100,000 investment.
