**Atlantic City, NJ** – Jane’s Addiction, the iconic rock band, has officially gone on hiatus and cancelled the remainder of their reunion tour, following a physical altercation between frontman Perry Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro during a performance in Boston last week.
The incident, which occurred on September 13th at the Leader Bank Pavilion, involved Farrell aggressively bumping Navarro with his shoulder, getting in his face, and even throwing a punch before bandmates Eric Avery and a roadie intervened.
Following the altercation, Jane’s Addiction issued a statement apologizing for the incident and cancelled their scheduled show in Bridgeport, CT. Farrell’s wife later took to Instagram to explain that the singer was frustrated by the band’s volume levels, which were drowning out his vocals, coupled with feeling ill and a rowdy crowd.
In a joint statement, Navarro, Avery, and Perkins announced their decision to halt the tour, citing “a continuing pattern of behavior and the mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell.” They expressed concern for Farrell’s well-being and stated that they “can see no solution that would either ensure a safe environment on stage or reliably allow us to deliver a great performance on a nightly basis.”
Farrell has since released a statement apologizing for his actions, stating that “my breaking point resulted in inexcusable behavior, and I take full accountability for how I chose to handle the situation.”
Fans who purchased tickets for the cancelled tour dates will receive refunds at their point of purchase.
This latest development marks a disappointing end to what was initially a highly anticipated reunion for the band. Jane’s Addiction, known for their blend of hard rock, funk, and alternative elements, last toured together in 2010. The band released their first new single in 34 years in May 2024, which sparked excitement amongst fans.
The band’s future remains uncertain, leaving fans wondering if this hiatus will mark a permanent split for the iconic group.
