**BOSTON, MA -** Jane’s Addiction has abruptly cancelled the remainder of their US tour following an onstage altercation between frontman Perry Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro last week. The band’s statement, posted on Instagram, cited “a continuing pattern of behavior and the mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell” as the reason for the cancellation.
The incident occurred during a show in Boston on September 13th when Farrell attempted to punch Navarro. The band cut the show short, subsequently cancelling a scheduled performance in Connecticut on September 15th.
In a separate statement, Navarro, along with bassist Eric Avery and drummer Stephen Perkins, expressed their concern for Farrell’s “personal health and safety,” adding that they saw “no solution that would either ensure a safe environment on stage or reliably allow us to deliver a great performance on a nightly basis.”
The statement concluded, “We deeply regret that we are not able to come through for all our fans who have already bought tickets. Our hearts are broken.”
Fans who purchased tickets for the cancelled shows are advised to contact their point of purchase for refunds.
