Candice Miller, the widow of late Hamptons real estate mogul Brandon Miller, is facing a lawsuit from Upper East Side landlord Mak Acquisitions. The lawsuit, filed on September 12, alleges that Miller owes nearly $195,000 in unpaid rent for her luxurious Park Avenue apartment, which she occupied between April and July.
The lawsuit claims that Miller skipped out on rent payments for two months at a rate of $47,000 per month before the rent was raised to $49,000. Miller was obligated to vacate the five-bedroom apartment at 737 Park Avenue by the end of August but only owes $2,000 for that month due to the landlord’s retention of her security deposit.
The news comes as a surprise, considering the lavish lifestyle portrayed by the couple on social media. However, it was later revealed that Brandon Miller was heavily in debt, with nearly $34 million owed and just $8,000 in his bank account.
Candice Miller, a known influencer and founder of the lifestyle blog Mama & Tata, moved to a Miami condo with her two daughters in August, following the death of her husband in July. She also put their debt-ridden Hamptons mansion up for sale.
Lawyers for both parties have yet to comment on the matter.
