**College Station** – The College Station Lady Cougars kicked off their District 17-5A campaign with a strong road victory over Montgomery on Tuesday. The Lady Cougars, who are now 20-8 overall and 2-0 in district play, defeated the Lady Bears 20-25, 25-22, 25-9, 25-14. The Cougars will look to continue their winning streak at home this Friday against Huntsville.

**Mumford** – The Mumford Lady Mustangs dominated Centerville on Tuesday night, sweeping the Lady Tigers 25-14, 25-15, 25-16. Jayla Martinez led the Mustangs with 11 kills and 11 digs, while Ashlen Sloan contributed 17 assists. The Lady Mustangs will host the defending 2A state champion Iola Bulldogs this Friday.

**Rockdale** – The Rockdale Lady Tigers fell to Little River Academy in a tough District 19-3A matchup on Tuesday. The Lady Eagles won the match 25-20, 25-13, 13-25. Rockdale will have a chance to bounce back this Friday at home against Thrall.

**Other Local Teams** – The College Station Lady Cougars opened their district play with a 25-18, 17-25, 25-13, 25-21 victory over Brenham on Friday. Rudder also began their district campaign with a win over Huntsville, 25-23, 18-25, 25-19, 25-19. Meanwhile, Brazos Christian made a statement by snapping Round Rock Christian Academy’s 73-game district winning streak with a 25-19, 27-29, 25-23, 25-14 win.
