Tue Sep 17 02:36:17 UTC 2024: ## Amit Shah Fires Salvos at NC-Congress Alliance, Vows to Bury Terrorism in J&K

**Kishtwar/Ramban, September 17, 2023:** Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday launched a blistering attack on the National Conference (NC)-Congress alliance in Jammu and Kashmir, accusing them of wanting to bring back Article 370 and revive terrorism in the region.

Addressing a series of rallies in Kishtwar and Ramban districts, Shah declared that the BJP is committed to eradicating terrorism and protecting the abrogation of Article 370. He emphasized that the elections in Jammu and Kashmir were a clear contest between two forces: the BJP, which stands for “one Constitution, one flag, and one Prime Minister,” and the NC-Congress alliance, which he accused of promoting a separatist agenda.

Shah highlighted the BJP’s commitment to development and progress in the region, citing initiatives like the establishment of AIIMS and improved connectivity. He also praised the sacrifices of local security forces and VDGs in fighting terrorism.

“The NC and the Congress have said they will restore Article 370 if their government comes to power. They want to release terrorists and stone-pelters and provide them jobs. This region has already suffered the worst of terrorism in the 1990s. We are restructuring SPOs and VDGs, giving them SLR rifles instead of outdated 303 models,” Shah said.

He also condemned the NC-Congress alliance’s support for dialogue with Pakistan and restarting cross-border trade, stating that such discussions will not take place until terrorism is completely eliminated. He issued a stern warning to terrorists, saying they should reconsider their plans as the Indian Army and security forces are prepared to “bury them.”

Shah’s rallies come as the first phase of J&K assembly elections is set to be held on September 18th. He has been campaigning extensively throughout the region, seeking to mobilize support for the BJP.

The Congress and NC have countered the BJP’s claims, emphasizing their commitment to peace and development in Jammu and Kashmir. However, their alliance has been facing criticism from some within their ranks, with some questioning the strategic wisdom of aligning with the NC.

With the first phase of elections just hours away, the battle for political dominance in Jammu and Kashmir is heating up, with Shah’s fiery speeches adding to the already charged atmosphere.
