**New Delhi, September 18, 2024:** Atishi, a rising star in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has been chosen as Delhi’s next Chief Minister, replacing Arvind Kejriwal. This decision was made after a series of internal discussions within the party.

Sources within the AAP have attributed Atishi’s elevation to her “unquestionable loyalty” towards party chief Arvind Kejriwal. Party leaders highlighted her capability in managing party affairs during crucial times, particularly while both Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia were in prison. They further emphasized her understanding of governance and her extensive experience as a Cabinet minister holding 14 portfolios, including Finance and Power.

Atishi, a first-time MLA, was selected over more experienced leaders, including party co-founders Gopal Rai and Saurabh Bharadwaj. She is known for her role in revamping Delhi government-run schools during her tenure as advisor to the Education Minister from 2015 to 2018.

Atishi’s educational background is impressive, having studied at St. Stephen’s College, Oxford University (on a Chevening scholarship), and obtaining a second master’s in Educational Research as a Rhodes Scholar.

With the upcoming Assembly election just months away, the AAP aims to capitalize on Atishi’s leadership and experience, believing her to be a strong contender for the top position.
