**Vancouver, Canada** – The much-anticipated blood pressure monitoring feature for the Apple Watch Series 10 has been scrapped, according to a report by Mark Gurman in his “Power On” newsletter. The new design of the Series 10, featuring a larger display and slimmer chassis, reportedly caused unforeseen technical difficulties with the blood pressure sensor during testing, ultimately leading to its removal.
This isn’t the first time Apple has faced setbacks with adding blood pressure monitoring to its smartwatch. While previous models were rumored to include the feature, it has yet to materialize.
However, YouTuber Vadim Yuryev has proposed an alternative solution: a redesigned band system with built-in sensors. This new band would be magnetic and feature pogo pin connectors to link electronically to the Apple Watch. The sensors within the band would then provide the blood pressure reading, potentially requiring a tighter fit for accurate results.
While Apple has reportedly invested heavily in AI to enhance data representation, the absence of a physical sensor in the Series 10 leaves the future of blood pressure monitoring on the Apple Watch uncertain. It remains unclear when, or if, this feature will be available to users.
