Sharjah, UAE – The first of three One-Day International (ODI) matches between Afghanistan and South Africa will take place on Wednesday, September 18th at 5:30 PM IST at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. This marks the first bilateral ODI series between the two nations.

Afghanistan, led by Hashmatullah Shahidi, will be seeking their first series victory over South Africa in any format. While the two teams have previously met in the T20 World Cup 2024 semi-final, where South Africa emerged victorious, their ODI history consists of two previous encounters, both won by the Proteas during the 2019 and 2023 World Cups.
