Mon Sep 16 14:11:13 UTC 2024: ## Bubba Watson’s LIV Golf Future Uncertain After Relegation

Two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson is facing an uncertain future on the LIV Golf tour after being relegated to the “Drop Zone” following a disappointing season.

The 45-year-old golfer failed to secure his place in LIV Golf for the 2025 season despite a strong final round at the LIV Golf individual championship in Chicago. Watson, who finished 53rd overall, has a long shot opportunity to remain on the tour. As the captain of LIV Golf’s RangeGoats team, he can submit a “business case” to LIV Golf requesting to stay on the tour. The request must be approved by the team’s board and convince LIV Golf to continue investing millions in him.

While most relegated players would compete in designated Asian Tour events to earn promotion back to LIV Golf, Watson’s future is unclear. His age, prior earnings, and recent knee injury make a return to lower-tier tours a difficult proposition.

Another option for Watson would be to participate in LIV Golf’s qualifying school during the offseason. However, many on social media are speculating that he might simply retire.

“I wonder what he does. Does he want to play anymore? If so, is he really going to grind on the Asian Tour? He doesn’t have many other options. Or does he retire,” tweeted Monday Q Info (@acaseofthegolf1).

Watson’s decision will likely hinge on his desire to continue playing and the financial implications of leaving LIV Golf.

Other golfers facing relegation include former Liberty University golfer Kieran Vincent, two-time PGA Tour winner Branden Grace, and Scott Vincent of Zimbabwe.
