**Chennai:** Ahead of the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh, young Indian batsmen Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel have expressed their excitement at sharing the dressing room with legendary batsman Virat Kohli.

Sarfaraz, who made his Test debut against England earlier this year, is particularly thrilled to be playing alongside his former Royal Challengers Bengaluru teammate. He lauded Kohli’s leadership qualities and his ability to inspire the team, stating, “His passion and spirit are unmatched. Whenever I saw him, even in pre-match meetings, he’d take charge and tell everyone how many runs he’d score off a particular bowler.” He added that Kohli’s ability to remain positive and deliver on his words is truly unique.

Sarfaraz, who has been a keen observer of Kohli’s batting technique and approach, has learned the importance of routine and self-awareness from the former captain. He emphasizes the need to focus on the process and not let external factors influence his performance.

Jurel, who also made his Test debut against England, sought advice from Kohli on maintaining consistency throughout his career. Kohli, in response, stressed the importance of hard work and dedication, emphasizing that “doing the boring things repetitively” is the key to success.

Both players expressed admiration for Kohli’s signature shots, with Jurel highlighting his ability to hit over the covers and Sarfaraz pointing out his flick shot and cover drive.

The first Test between India and Bangladesh is set to begin on Thursday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. With the presence of a legend like Virat Kohli in the dressing room, the young batsmen will be eager to learn and contribute to India’s success in the series.
