Mon Sep 16 15:08:00 UTC 2024: ## Trump Blames Harris for Assassination Attempts, Doubles Down on Inflammatory Rhetoric

Former President Donald Trump has accused Vice President Kamala Harris of being responsible for recent assassination attempts against him, claiming her rhetoric is inciting violence. During a Fox News interview, Trump stated, “Their rhetoric is causing me to be shot at, when I am the one who is going to save the country, and they are the ones that are destroying the country.”

He specifically referenced the recent incident where an armed man was spotted on the Mar-a-Lago golf course and the previous shooting at a Pennsylvania rally where Trump was injured.

While Trump claims Harris’ words are fueling violence, there is no evidence to support this assertion. The alleged gunman at Mar-a-Lago, Ryan Wesley Routh, has stated he voted for Trump in 2016 but later turned against him, supporting Tulsi Gabbard in the 2020 primaries. The shooter in Pennsylvania, who has since died, also does not appear to have been motivated by politics, based on current evidence.

Despite the lack of evidence, Trump maintains that Democratic rhetoric is a danger to the country. He accused Democrats of using “highly inflammatory language” and claims they are “the real threat.”

This incident is the latest in a series of claims by Trump blaming political opponents for violence against him. His supporters have echoed this sentiment, blaming Democratic rhetoric for the Pennsylvania shooting, despite evidence suggesting the shooter was not motivated by politics.
