Mon Sep 16 23:01:05 UTC 2024: ## Telugu Choreographer Jani Master Accused of Sexual Assault, Zero FIR Filed
**Hyderabad, India:** Renowned Telugu choreographer, Shaik Jani Basha, known as Jani Master, is facing serious allegations of sexual assault. A 21-year-old woman has accused him of repeated sexual abuse over several months, leading to the filing of a zero First Information Report (FIR) by the Cyberabad Raidurgam police.
The victim claims to have worked with Jani on numerous projects and alleges the abuse occurred during shoots in various cities, including Chennai, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. She also stated that the abuse took place at her residence in Narsingi, Hyderabad.
Police have booked Jani under sections 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code. A senior police official confirmed the investigation is underway and the case has been transferred to Narsingi police station for further action.
The allegations first came to light when the victim approached Shikha Goel, the DG of Women Safety Wing (WSW) Telangana. Goel advised the victim to file a police complaint and suggested an internal inquiry under the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) Act.
This isn’t the first time Jani has faced legal troubles. He was previously sentenced to six months in jail for a college brawl in 2015.
Jani, who has choreographed popular songs in films like “Stree 2” and has worked with prominent actors like Salman Khan, Ram Charan, and Thalapathy Vijay, has yet to comment on the allegations.
