Sun Sep 15 16:32:21 UTC 2024: ## Packers’ Love Out, Willis to Start Against Colts

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love will miss Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts due to a knee injury sustained in the season opener. This marks the first time Love has missed a game due to injury since becoming the starting quarterback last year.

Malik Willis, acquired by the Packers from the Tennessee Titans just three weeks ago, will start in Love’s place. Willis, a 2022 third-round draft pick, made his only previous starts during his rookie season with the Titans.

The Colts will be without several key players, including safety Julian Blackmon (shoulder) and cornerback JuJu Brents (knee), leaving their secondary depleted. Wide receiver Josh Downs (ankle) will also miss his second consecutive game.

Despite these absences, Colts defensive tackle DeForest Buckner (back) will be available for the game.

The Packers, however, will have the benefit of a healthy Jayden Reed (shin/calf) and MarShawn Lloyd (hamstring), both of whom were listed as questionable. Reed impressed in his debut against the Eagles, while rookie running back Lloyd will make his NFL debut on Sunday.

The game will feature an intriguing quarterback matchup as Willis, with his limited experience, aims to lead the Packers to victory against a Colts defense facing significant injury concerns.
