**Hyderabad:** Renowned choreographer Shaik Jani Basha, better known as Jani Master, has been accused of sexually assaulting a female colleague, leading to an FIR being filed against him. The Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC) confirmed receiving a sexual harassment complaint against Jani and has initiated an internal investigation.
The complaint alleges multiple instances of sexual assault by Jani, including incidents during outdoor shoots and even at the complainant’s residence. The Raidurgam police registered a zero FIR and transferred the case to the Narsingi police station, where the complainant resides.
Jani, known for his work in popular films like “Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo,” “Pushpa: The Rise,” and “Varisu,” has also been associated with the Jana Sena Party, led by Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan. However, the party has suspended his involvement following the allegations and the ongoing investigation.
The TFCC, in their statement, emphasized their commitment to protecting the complainant’s identity and ensuring a thorough investigation in accordance with the POSH Act 2013. They are currently conducting an internal inquiry while simultaneously cooperating with the police investigation.
