Sun Sep 15 16:11:09 UTC 2024: ## Uttar Pradesh CM Orders Capture of Wolves After Attacks in Bahraich

**Bahraich, UP (ANI):** Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted an aerial survey of areas in Bahraich affected by wolf attacks on September 15th. The Chief Minister acknowledged that several casualties and injuries, particularly among children, have occurred in the region over the past two months due to wolf attacks.

Responding to the situation, CM Adityanath has ordered a campaign to capture the wolves. “There have been some casualties and some children have also been injured by wolves in this area due to the terror of wolves for about the last 2 months… I had immediately instructed the administration to launch a campaign for this… 5 wolves have been rescued and one wolf has not been caught,” he said.

The Chief Minister assured residents that the administration is taking all necessary steps to address the situation. “Our 165 forest department teams are present here… the first priority is to rescue the wolf… 4 thermal drones have been deployed here… if violence is seen there, orders have been given to shoot the wolf before it causes casualties but this is the last option,” he added.

The capture campaign is currently underway, with the focus on capturing the remaining wolves safely. The use of lethal force is only considered as a last resort, with the safety of both humans and animals being prioritized.
