**London, England -** Arsenal will be sporting an unusual look when they face off against their arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur this Sunday. The Premier League has ruled that Arsenal’s traditional red home kit is “too white” and clashes with Tottenham’s home kit, forcing the Gunners to wear their black away strip for the derby.
This decision means one of the league’s most iconic fixtures will see a different visual than usual, with Arsenal in black rather than their familiar red. The club had reportedly offered to switch to red shorts, a common practice in similar situations, but this was rejected by the Premier League’s refereeing body (PGMOL).
As a result of the ruling, Tottenham will also be required to wear their alternative kit when they visit the Emirates Stadium in January 2025.
