Sun Sep 15 02:03:24 UTC 2024: ## Saint Lucia Kings Pacer Loses Cool, Hetmyer Hits Back with Monster Six

**Gros Islet, Saint Lucia:** In a heated Caribbean Premier League (CPL) match on Saturday, Saint Lucia Kings pacer Alzarri Joseph lost his composure, resulting in a viral moment.

The incident occurred in the ninth over with Guyana Amazon Warriors closing in on victory. After bowling a delivery to Shimron Hetmyer, who had punched the ball straight back at him, Joseph reacted angrily. He threw the ball towards the stumps, even though Hetmyer was safely in his crease, and then stared intensely at the batsman.

Hetmyer, undeterred by Joseph’s outburst, responded in style with a massive six on the very next ball. This helped Guyana secure a comfortable victory, needing just nine runs to reach their target in 10 overs.

The Saint Lucia Kings had earlier struggled to post a competitive score, being bowled out for a paltry 100 runs after Guyana opted to field first.

St. Lucia Kings captain Faf du Plessis expressed disappointment with his team’s performance, citing poor shot selection and a lack of adaptation to the pitch conditions as contributing factors. Guyana captain Imran Tahir, on the other hand, lauded his bowlers for setting up a crucial win and praised the team’s performance throughout the tournament.

The incident involving Joseph and Hetmyer has become a major talking point on social media, highlighting the intensity and passion of the CPL.
