**Visakhapatnam, September 16, 2024:** A new Vande Bharat Express train connecting Visakhapatnam and Durg in Chhattisgarh is set to be launched today by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through virtual inauguration. The train will commence its journey from Durg at 5:45 AM and will reach Visakhapatnam at 1:45 PM, making stops at Raipur, Mahasamund, Khariar Road, Kantabanji, Titlagarh, Kesinga, Rayagada, Parvatipuram, and Vizianagaram.

While the train is set to start today, it will be open to passengers only from September 20th. It will operate six days a week, excluding Thursdays, with the first train leaving from Durg every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

The train comprises 16 coaches, including 14 chair cars and two executive coaches. Initially, the train was scheduled to stop only at Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. However, following requests from residents, the train will now also halt at Parvatipuram, providing a much-needed boost to the local economy and connectivity.

This new Vande Bharat Express is expected to be a significant addition to the railway network, offering faster and more comfortable travel between the two cities, boosting tourism and economic opportunities in the region.
