Sat Sep 14 19:30:00 UTC 2024: ## Kumaraswamy Accuses Siddaramaiah of Illegally Building House on Dalit’s Land
**Bengaluru, Sept 14:** Union Minister and JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy has accused Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of illegally building a house on a site allotted to a Dalit with a disability during his tenure as Deputy Chief Minister.
Kumaraswamy made the allegations while speaking to reporters, adding to the ongoing controversy surrounding Siddaramaiah’s alleged involvement in a land allotment scam. The Governor has approved an investigation into allegations of illegal allotment of 14 sites to Siddaramaiah’s wife in a Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) layout.
“Haven’t we seen what he has done for farmers? Are we not seeing developments in Mysuru? Let these 15 sites be there on one side. As the Deputy CM, he had built a house. On whose land did you build the house? Do you want records of it? I’m asking the chief minister,” Kumaraswamy said.
He specifically claimed that a Dalit, who was handicapped, had paid Rs 24,000 to MUDA for a site, but Siddaramaiah, using false documents, took 10,000 sq ft of that land and constructed a house. Kumaraswamy further alleged that Siddaramaiah sold the site, but only on paper, and that the true owner remains unknown.
“If that issue is brought out, another ‘Ramayana’ will start,” the Union Minister for Steel and Heavy Industries added, hinting at a potential scandal.
Siddaramaiah served as Deputy Chief Minister from 1996 to 1999 and from 2004 to 2005 under different parties. However, Kumaraswamy did not specify the exact time period of the alleged incident.
