Mon Sep 16 09:23:49 UTC 2024: ## RG Kar Medical College Former Principal’s Lies Exposed in Rape-Murder Investigation

**Kolkata, India:** The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has revealed that Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical College, lied during polygraph and layered voice analysis tests in connection with the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at the hospital on August 9th.

The CBI alleges that Ghosh received information about the crime at 9.58 am but deliberately delayed filing a police complaint. He later submitted a vague report and even introduced a fabricated theory of suicide, despite visible external injuries on the victim’s body.

The CBI investigation also revealed that Ghosh contacted Tala Police Station’s Officer In Charge (OC) Abhijit Mondal at 10.03 am on August 9th, but Mondal did not immediately arrive at the crime scene. The case was registered as an unnatural death at 11.30 am, despite the victim being declared dead by a doctor earlier.

The general diary entry, which falsely claimed the victim was found unconscious in a seminar room, was allegedly fabricated in collusion with hospital authorities. The CBI asserts that Mondal’s delay in filing the FIR and failure to protect the crime scene compromised vital evidence and potentially shielded the accused.

The CBI has also arrested Sanjay Roy, a police volunteer, who was captured on CCTV entering the room at 4.03 am. A report from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), New Delhi, concluded that Roy’s statements were deceptive on crucial points.

Sandip Ghosh and Abhijit Mondal were arrested on Saturday, with Ghosh already in custody for alleged financial irregularities. This latest revelation underscores the gravity of the case and raises serious concerns about the handling of the initial investigation.
