**Madrid, Spain** – Real Madrid’s injury woes continue to pile up with the news that attacker Brahim Díaz will be sidelined for three months after suffering a thigh injury during Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Real Sociedad.
The Moroccan international, who started the match in San Sebastián, was forced off after just 25 minutes. Initial tests revealed a tear in the abductor longus muscle of his right leg, according to a club statement.
The news is a major blow to manager Carlo Ancelotti, who is already dealing with a number of other injuries. Díaz’s absence will further exacerbate Real Madrid’s attacking woes, particularly as he has been directly involved in two of the team’s five goals from open play in La Liga this season.
His absence means Ancelotti will likely have to deploy a 4-3-3 formation with Rodrygo Goes leading the line, with limited options on the bench. The lack of depth was evident on Saturday when Ancelotti only used three of his five available substitutes.
The injury will keep Díaz out until December, meaning he will miss a significant number of key fixtures, including matches against Atlético Madrid, FC Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan, and Liverpool.
There is some good news on the horizon, however, as Jude Bellingham is nearing a return and could potentially feature on the bench for Tuesday’s Champions League clash with VfB Stuttgart. Aurelién Tchouameni is also expected to be back soon after missing Saturday’s match due to a toe injury sustained on international duty.
However, Eduardo Camavinga and Dani Ceballos are not expected to return until later this month, while long-term absentees David Alaba and Joan Martínez remain sidelined.
This latest injury setback highlights the growing injury crisis at Real Madrid, putting further pressure on Ancelotti to navigate a challenging period.
