Sun Sep 15 13:48:51 UTC 2024: ## Pulp Rocks Brooklyn with Electrifying Reunion Show

**NEW YORK, NY** – British art-rock band Pulp, known for their iconic 90s Britpop sound, delivered a nostalgic yet electrifying performance at Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre on Friday night. The show marked the first of two sold-out shows in New York as part of their “This Is What We Do for an Encore” tour, their first North American outing in over a decade.

The band, led by the charismatic Jarvis Cocker, treated fans to a nearly two-hour set filled with classics from their 1995 masterpiece “Different Class” like “I Spy,” “Underwear,” and “Disco 2000,” as well as tracks from other albums including “His ‘n’ Hers,” “This Is Hardcore,” and “We Love Life.”

The show was a vibrant celebration of Anglophilia, featuring Cocker’s trademark suave vocals and magnetic stage presence. The band’s signature cinematic and energetic art-rock was evident, with the live renditions of their songs showcasing a rawer edge compared to their studio recordings.

The setlist also included a poignant moment dedicated to the late bassist Steve Mackey, who died last year, before the band launched into “Something Changed.”

In a surprising twist, Pulp unveiled a new song, “Got to Have Love,” during their second encore, hinting at the possibility of a new album in the future. The band has been releasing previously unreleased material during this tour, including “Spike Island” and “My Sex.”

The enthusiastic response from the sold-out audience demonstrated the enduring popularity of Pulp and their ability to deliver a memorable performance despite the long gaps between tours and albums.
