Mon Sep 16 08:00:16 UTC 2024: ## “Namo Bharat Rapid Rail” Inaugurated by PM Modi, Connecting Bhuj and Ahmedabad

**Ahmedabad, India -** India’s first Vande Bharat metro train, renamed “Namo Bharat Rapid Rail,” was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, coinciding with his birthday on September 17th. The high-speed train will commence service on this day, connecting Bhuj and Ahmedabad in under six hours, covering a distance of 360 km.

The train, with a maximum speed of 110 km per hour, will make stops at Anjar, Gandhidham, Bhachau, Samakhiali, Halvad, Dhrangadhra, Viramgam, Chandlodiya, Sabarmati, and Kalupur stations.

The Ahmedabad to Bhuj train will depart daily from Ahmedabad at 5:30 pm (except Saturdays), arriving in Bhuj at 11:10 pm. The Bhuj to Ahmedabad train will depart daily from Bhuj at 5:05 am (except Sundays), arriving in Ahmedabad at 10:50 am.

The Namo Bharat Rapid Rail offers seating for 1,150 passengers and standing room for an additional 2,058. The train features 12 air-conditioned coaches with modern amenities such as automatic sliding doors, modular interiors, continuous LED lighting, vacuum evacuation toilets, route map indicators, panoramic windows, CCTV, phone charging facilities, and a comprehensive fire safety system including smoke/fire detection, alarm systems, and aerosol-based fire extinguishing systems.

The Railway Ministry highlighted the train’s advanced safety features, including the KAVACH system for collision avoidance, fire detection, and fire suppression, as well as emergency lights. The ministry also emphasized the unique ejector-based vacuum evacuation toilets, differentiating it from traditional suburban trains and metro coaches.
