Atlanta rapper Playboi Carti’s birthday party in Brooklyn was shut down by the NYPD on Saturday night due to overcrowding. The event, held at the Brooklyn Warehouse in Crown Heights, was ticketed, but it appears far more people attended than the venue’s capacity of 3,000.

Social media reports suggest that lax security allowed underage attendees and those without tickets to enter, leading to a crowd surge. Some attendees described being trampled while attempting to get into the venue.

An upset Carti took to his alternate Instagram account to vent his frustration, claiming he had been told by police that he would be arrested if he left his car. The rapper then reportedly moved the party to a nightclub.

The incident comes amidst a string of online beefs for Carti, including a recent spat with fellow rapper Lucki. He is also gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated album “Music,” his first in four years.

Despite the birthday party fiasco, Carti’s “Music” single has been released, but a full album release date and cover art are yet to be announced.
