LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – Sean O’Malley’s reign as UFC Bantamweight champion came to an end at UFC 306 last night, with Merab Dvalishvilli dominating the fight and claiming the title via unanimous decision.

Following the loss, O’Malley took to social media to apologize for his performance, tweeting “Over promised under delivered. Sorry. Love you guys.” He also shared a video on Instagram of himself practicing wrestling sprawls, a technique he failed to utilize during the fight.

The defeat snaps O’Malley’s six-fight winning streak and marks his second loss in the UFC, both coming against Marlon Vera and now Dvalishvilli.

Dvalishvilli, on the other hand, extended his winning streak to eleven fights with the victory. He has now defeated four former UFC champions: O’Malley, Jose Aldo, Petr Yan, and Henry Cejudo.
