Sun Sep 15 12:12:38 UTC 2024: ## North Korea’s Arms Supply to Russia Poses Biggest Threat to Ukraine: Intelligence Chief

**Kyiv, Ukraine** – Ukraine’s military intelligence chief, Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, has declared that North Korea’s arms supply to Russia is the most significant threat Ukraine faces from Moscow’s allies.

Speaking at the Yalta European Security conference, Budanov revealed that thousands of containers of munitions have been sent from North Korea to Russia, significantly bolstering Moscow’s dwindling stockpiles. He described these weapons as “really bad for us” and acknowledged Ukraine’s inability to counter the influx at this time.

Budanov emphasized that the volume of weaponry coming from North Korea surpasses any other support Russia receives from its allies. He further pointed out that North Korea’s missile development program is actively aiding Russia’s war effort, with numerous KN-23 short-range ballistic missiles deployed in Ukraine.

While acknowledging the danger posed by Iranian-designed Shahed drones and potential military support from China, Budanov stressed that North Korea’s assistance is the most pressing concern.

Meanwhile, Ukraine has been conducting cross-border strikes on military facilities in Russia, aiming to disrupt Moscow’s offensive capabilities. Budanov believes these strikes have successfully disrupted the sense of security in Russia.

Despite restrictions on the use of long-range weapons, there are growing indications that Western powers may loosen restrictions on Ukraine’s ability to target Russian territory. This could potentially alter the course of the war and significantly impact Russia’s military capabilities.
