**Brioude, France** – Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Josep Garcia has secured his first ever EnduroGP World Championship title following a dominant performance at the final round in Brioude, France. Garcia, riding a KTM 250 EXC-F, claimed seven out of nine test wins on Saturday, clinching the championship with a day to spare.
Despite entering the race with a 17-point lead in the standings, Garcia knew he had to deliver a strong performance to secure the title, given the pressure from his rivals. He started by taking third place in the Friday night Super Test, before moving into the provisional lead after the first test on Saturday and extending his advantage throughout the day.
Garcia crossed the finish line 12 seconds ahead of closest rival Steve Holcombe, securing his seventh victory of the season and solidifying his place in the history books. The world title is his fourth overall, but his first in the EnduroGP category.
However, Garcia’s celebrations are not over yet. With one day remaining in France, the 2024 Enduro1 title is still up for grabs. Despite winning the overall race, he holds a narrow nine-point advantage over Holcombe in the E1 category. The newly crowned EnduroGP champion will undoubtedly give his all to secure two world titles in as many days.
“This is a dream come true,” said Garcia. “The last two years have been a huge fight between some difficult races and injury, but this moment now is unforgettable and all the hard work has been worth it. I’ve achieved my dream of becoming EnduroGP World Champion, and we did it on the first day here in France by winning the overall. I was quite surprised at how relaxed I was today, and I went through all the tests without a single crash. It was a perfect day, and I think that’s the best way to become a champion – by winning the day.”
Garcia expressed his gratitude to the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team, friends, and family for their support.
