**New Delhi:** India has launched a relief operation codenamed “Sadbhav” to assist Myanmar, Laos, and Vietnam in dealing with the devastating impact of Typhoon Yagi, the most powerful storm to hit Asia this year. The typhoon has caused widespread flooding across the three countries.
India has dispatched 10 tonnes of aid, including dry rations, clothing, and medicines, to Myanmar aboard the Indian Naval Ship INS Satpura. An Indian Air Force transport aircraft is carrying 35 tonnes of aid to Vietnam and 10 tonnes of relief materials to Laos.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar announced the operation on social media platform X, stating that India is demonstrating its solidarity with the people affected by the typhoon. The aid to Vietnam includes water purification items, water containers, blankets, kitchen utensils, and solar lanterns. Laos will receive generators, water purification items, hygiene supplies, mosquito nets, blankets, and sleeping bags.
The Indian government’s swift action is a testament to its commitment to supporting its neighbors in times of need.
