Sun Sep 15 12:17:00 UTC 2024: ## “Shogun” Leads the Pack at the 76th Emmy Awards

The 76th Emmy Awards are set to take place this Sunday, marking a return to the traditional September timeframe after last year’s Hollywood strikes pushed the ceremony to January. While “The Bear” dominated the January ceremony, it’s “Shogun,” the FX series set in feudal Japan, that’s currently leading the pack with 25 nominations and a record-breaking 14 wins already secured at the Creative Arts Emmy ceremony last weekend.

The show, hosted by actors Eugene and Dan Levy, will air live on ABC at 8 p.m. Eastern and can be streamed through services like Hulu+ Live TV, YouTube TV, and FuboTV. For those unable to watch live, the ceremony will be available on Hulu the following day.

Red carpet coverage begins at 6 p.m. Eastern on E! with host Laverne Cox, the first transgender person to be nominated for an Emmy. People magazine and Entertainment Weekly will also host live red carpet coverage on their websites and YouTube.

Besides “Shogun,” other prominent contenders include “The Bear” with 23 nominations, “The Crown” with 19, and “Hacks” with 16. Notable nominees include Jeremy Allen White for best actor in a comedy series, Elizabeth Debicki for best supporting actress in a drama for her portrayal of Princess Diana, and Jodie Foster for best actress in a limited or anthology series for her role in “True Detective: Night Country.”

With a record-breaking number of nominations and wins already under its belt, “Shogun” appears to be a strong contender for the top prizes at the 76th Emmy Awards. The ceremony promises to be a night of celebration and recognition for the best television of the year.
