Sun Sep 15 10:45:30 UTC 2024: ## Oklahoma State’s Shettron Breaks Out Against Tulsa, Showing His Potential
**TULSA, OK -** Talyn Shettron, the former Edmond Santa Fe High School star and four-star recruit, had his breakout game as a Cowboy, showcasing the talent that had been hampered by injuries in his first two seasons. In Oklahoma State’s 45-10 victory over Tulsa, Shettron caught three passes for 110 yards and a touchdown, his second at OSU and first since 2022.
Shettron’s performance was a highlight of a day that saw the Cowboys dominate the Golden Hurricane. Alan Bowman threw five touchdown passes, with De’Zhaun Stribling leading the receiving corps with 174 yards and two touchdowns. Star Brennan Presley also caught a touchdown pass in his hometown.
However, Shettron stole the show. He had been plagued by injuries since enrolling early at OSU in the spring of 2022, including a broken ankle, hamstring injury, and two broken collarbones. This season, he has remained healthy and shown the potential that made him a highly-touted recruit.
“It felt great,” Shettron said. “I’ve been waiting for this moment, you could say, my whole career here through all the injuries and stuff.”
His teammates were ecstatic to see him succeed. Stribling, who has been mentoring Shettron, beamed with pride: “He was a puppy when I first got here… seeing it come into fruition for him is awesome because it’s paid off.”
Coach Mike Gundy also noted Shettron’s strong performance, pointing to his progress in the preseason.
“He had an opportunity to do some things kind of on a big stage for him,” Gundy said. “And I thought that he played pretty well.”
Shettron’s performance against Tulsa was a major step forward in his development. He is confident he can succeed now that he is healthy, and the Cowboys are excited to see what he can accomplish going forward.
