**Miami, FL** – NoWorkAllTravel recently had the opportunity to experience a one-night stay at DUA Miami, a Marriott Autograph Collection property formerly known as SLS. While the hotel boasts a prime location near Brickell and convenient access to the Metro Rail, several aspects of the stay left the traveler with a mixed impression.
Upon arrival, the traveler encountered a confusing entrance and encountered some difficulty in confirming the inclusion of breakfast promised during check-in. While the staff was generally friendly, inconsistencies in communication regarding the complimentary breakfast left a negative impression.
The room itself offered a comfortable bed but lacked any sense of spaciousness. The “work desk” felt cramped and the overall decor was deemed “uninspiring” by the traveler. While the balcony door effectively muffled the loud music coming from the lower floors, the bathroom’s unusual sliding door configuration and lack of standard amenities raised eyebrows.
Further adding to the confusion was the hotel’s layout. An ongoing event on the second floor rendered the lobby stairs unusable, forcing the traveler to use the elevator. The traveler also found the third-floor hallway “trippy” and noted a lack of clear signage, making navigation confusing.
Despite these drawbacks, DUA Miami offers amenities such as a well-equipped fitness center, a lively outdoor pool, and a spa/sauna. The hotel also hosts weekly events including yoga and exercise classes.
The on-site restaurant, Ahu Mar, offered a $20 food credit to compensate for the initial breakfast confusion. While the staff was friendly, the traveler felt the restaurant lacked organization and the prices were “risible” considering the quality of the food.
Overall, NoWorkAllTravel concluded that while the DUA Miami offers a comfortable bed and a good location, several aspects of the experience fell short of expectations. The confusion surrounding breakfast, cramped room, and unusual bathroom design left a negative impression, ultimately overshadowing the hotel’s positive attributes like its amenities and location.
