Sun Sep 15 16:45:24 UTC 2024: ## Georgia Holds Onto Top Spot in US LBM Coaches Poll, But Texas Makes a Move

**Athens, GA** – The Georgia Bulldogs remain the top team in the country according to the latest US LBM Coaches Poll, but their grip on the No. 1 spot is becoming a bit less secure. Despite a narrow one-point victory over Kentucky, Georgia received 42 of 55 first-place votes, a slight decrease from the previous week.

Taking advantage of Ohio State’s bye week, the Texas Longhorns surged to No. 2, capturing 10 first-place votes. Ohio State remains in third with the remaining three.

The rest of the top ten remains largely unchanged, with Alabama, Mississippi, and Oregon holding steady at fourth, fifth, and sixth respectively. Tennessee jumps to seventh, surpassing Missouri and Penn State, who are tied for eighth. Utah rounds out the top ten.

The only other notable changes in the poll are the entrance of Texas A&M at No. 24, and UNLV securing the No. 25 spot, marking their first appearance in the Coaches Poll in program history.

Arizona and Washington both fell out of the rankings after suffering losses to Kansas State and Washington State respectively.
