Sun Sep 15 16:08:51 UTC 2024: ## Gardaí Continue Search for Missing Man Dean Roche in Co Kilkenny

Gardaí are continuing their search for Dean Roche (31), who has been missing from his home in Co Kilkenny since March 22nd, 2015. The search, now entering its tenth year, will focus on an area in Ballyfoyle, where Mr. Roche was last seen.

Mr. Roche left home that morning to buy a car, telling his mother he would be back later. He was last seen by a woman in Ballyfoyle, who reported him as being in a distressed and disorientated state. His car was later found crashed a short distance away.

Gardaí have been searching extensively over the past week, focusing on a large area of countryside known for its slurry pits. These pits have been thoroughly searched with the assistance of dog and water units, as well as the Army. The Roche family, who believe Mr. Roche is dead, have also conducted their own searches in the area.

Damien Hipwell, a close friend of Mr. Roche and the family, has called for the case to be upgraded to murder. He and the Roche family are determined to fulfil Mrs. Roche’s wish to be buried with her son.

Gardaí are urging local farmers to check their land and outbuildings for any sign of Mr. Roche. The investigation has been hampered by rumors and inconsistencies, making it difficult to determine what happened to Mr. Roche.

The Gardaí have stated that they will continue the search for the next two weeks.
