**TALLAHASSEE, FL** – Despite a promising performance by the defense, Florida State’s offense continues to sputter, leading to a third consecutive loss, this time a 20-12 defeat to the Memphis Tigers. The Seminoles’ inability to sustain drives and capitalize on red zone opportunities is a major concern, according to head coach Mike Norvell.

“Obviously offensively today, it was a very disappointing performance,” Norvell stated. “Never able to really get much going.”

The offense has scored only four touchdowns in three games, averaging a meager 15.3 points per game. Against Memphis, FSU failed to convert two red zone trips into touchdowns, settling for field goals instead.

Despite the offensive struggles, Norvell maintains confidence in his team’s ability to turn the season around. “I do believe that we’re a much better team than what we’re showing,” he said. “So obviously, it still comes down to me being able to get that out of these guys on game day.”

The primary focus of scrutiny remains quarterback DJ Uiagalelei, who has struggled to find consistency. He has thrown just one touchdown in three games, with two costly interceptions leading to opposing team scores. While Norvell has avoided addressing a potential quarterback change, he emphasizes the need for improvement across the entire offensive unit.

Meanwhile, the defense showed signs of progress, limiting Memphis to only seven points in the second half. The Seminoles generated pressure on Memphis quarterback Seth Henigan, recording three sacks for the second week in a row. Defensive back Justin Cryer made a key interception in the third quarter, setting up a scoring drive for the offense.

However, despite the defensive improvements, FSU’s struggles extend beyond the offense. Injuries have taken their toll, with key players like safety Shyheim Brown sidelined and linebacker Cam Riley leaving the game early due to injury.
