**Enugu, Nigeria -** The Governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah, has issued a stern warning to criminals in the state following the brutal murder of the Chairman of the Ogbete Main Market Traders Association (OMMAT), Stephen Aniagu. Aniagu was shot dead by unknown gunmen on Saturday evening in the outskirts of Enugu.

In a statement released on Sunday, Governor Mbah expressed his deep sorrow over the killing, describing it as a “heinous crime” and a loss not only to OMMATA but to the entire state. He vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice, emphasizing that no criminal would go unpunished under his administration.

“I have directed security agencies in the state to apprehend his killers within 48 hours,” Mbah stated. “We have the capacity to bring them to justice. We have the will, technology, and resources to pursue, track down, and defeat such workers of wickedness.”

The governor assured residents of the state that their safety is a top priority and urged them to go about their lawful business. He also offered condolences to Aniagu’s family, community, and OMMATA, praising the deceased for his service to his community and Enugu State.
