Sun Sep 15 02:57:18 UTC 2024: ## “Game of Thrones” Star Peter Dinklage Still Stands By Controversial Finale

Despite widespread fan backlash, actor Peter Dinklage, who played Tyrion Lannister in HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” has defended the show’s controversial final season. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Dinklage expressed his continued fondness for the ending, stating, “I like the finale! You don’t have to agree with me.”

While the show was immensely popular throughout its eight seasons, the shortened sixth season of the finale sparked significant debate amongst viewers. Many felt the final episodes were rushed and ultimately unsatisfying, leading to widespread criticism of the series. However, Dinklage maintains that the negative reactions were more a reflection of the show’s conclusion than any inherent flaws in the writing.

He further elaborated on his stance, stating, “I can’t speak for anybody else’s opinion, and that’s what makes what we do fun, because everybody does have a difference of opinion.” Dinklage sees the passionate reactions as a testament to the show’s impact, adding, “It’s like an old Irish way of looking at the world. There’s something wrong if everything’s OK.”

While the original “Game of Thrones” has concluded, the franchise continues to expand. Two seasons of the prequel spin-off “House of the Dragon” have already aired, with two more planned. A second spin-off series, “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,” is also set to premiere in 2025.
