**Amsterdam, Netherlands** – Blackmagic Design has unveiled their highly anticipated URSA Cine 17K, a 65mm large format digital film camera featuring a revolutionary RGBW sensor, 16 stops of dynamic range, and Blackmagic RAW syncing to DaVinci Resolve.
This new camera, boasting a massive 65mm sensor, offers a resolution of 17,520 x 8,040 pixels, exceeding even IMAX 70mm 15-perf in size. Despite its impressive capabilities, Blackmagic Design has priced the URSA Cine 17K competitively at $29,995 USD. Orders are now open with shipments expected later this year.
The URSA Cine 17K maintains the familiar design of its predecessor, the URSA Cine, while offering a range of interchangeable lens mounts including LPL, Hasselblad, PL, EF, and more. The camera is compatible with a variety of lenses, including medium format stills lenses and cinema lenses like the Leitz Thalias and Tribe7 Blackwing7 primes.
The URSA Cine 17K offers various recording modes, including 17K, 12K, 8K, and 4K, all leveraging the full potential of the camera’s sensor. With its large sensor, the URSA Cine 17K delivers an astounding 16 stops of dynamic range and incredibly rich colors, thanks to its unique RGBW architecture.
Designed for demanding high-end productions, the camera features a robust magnesium alloy chassis, a lightweight carbon fiber polycarbonate composite skin, and industry-standard connections like Lemo and Fischer connectors for remote control and power.
Furthermore, the URSA Cine 17K integrates Cloud Store technology, allowing for fast and efficient media transfer via high-speed 10G Ethernet. The optional Blackmagic Media Dock enables multiple users to access media from multiple URSA Cine cameras simultaneously.
With built-in hardware streaming capabilities, the URSA Cine 17K supports RTMP and SRT streaming to various platforms. The optional Blackmagic URSA Cine EVF provides accurate focus with a 1920 x 1080 OLED display.
